THE L460 CHECKS THAT CHANGE THE BUYING DECISION
P460e/P550e replace P440e/P510e with a stronger electric motor. Updated V8 models gain mild-hybrid technology and P615 joins the SV range. Confirm VIN model year rather than choosing by appearance.
Get the retailer’s open-action printout
A public recall search is useful but does not replace the VIN-specific retailer record covering safety recalls, service actions and software campaigns.
Complete a charge and high-voltage health scan
Test AC charging, DC charging where supported, cell balance, isolation, contactors, battery cooling and EV climate. Displayed range alone cannot prove battery health.
One low-voltage warning can involve two electrical networks
Test both 12V and 48V systems, regenerative charging, belt starter and DC/DC operation. Repeatedly replacing the ordinary battery is not diagnosis.
Air suspension, rear steering and active roll control need separate scans
Measure overnight height, prove rear-wheel steering and identify whether Dynamic Response Pro is fitted. It uses powerful 48V actuators, not conventional passive anti-roll bars.
Over-the-air status does not show every retailer campaign
Record installed software, test connected services and check that updates complete. Then compare the vehicle with the retailer campaign record.
Inspect both turbo banks and every cooling circuit
The 4.4 twin-turbo V8 has different risks from the previous supercharged 5.0. Compare bank boost and inspect main, charge and turbo cooling systems.
Flush handles and powered furniture must work repeatedly
Test every handle, soft-close door, split tailgate, powered load floor, deployable steps and seating function. Intermittent operation still requires module and mechanism diagnosis.
Check aluminium repairs and PHEV battery protection
Previous underbody or collision damage needs an aluminium-capable body assessment and, on PHEVs, high-voltage isolation and enclosure inspection.

Manufacturer releases establish exact powertrain and chassis changes; VIN campaign status must be checked for the individual vehicle.
